Video Game Testing & Assessment Assistant

Are you passionate about games and looking for a bachelor-and-up level internship? Well, stick around. We’ve got something for you!

Who are “we”?

Iceberg Interactive is an international video games publisher, located in Haarlem. We work closely with development teams from all over the world and we sell our games predominantly through digital platforms. These include Steam, EPIC Games Store, PlayStation Store, Xbox Marketplace and Nintendo eShop.

About the position

As a Game Testing & Assessment Assistant you’ll work closely with our Producer (Lea), and you’ll test games primarily for PC (PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One /One X Series and Nintendo Switch are secondary). You’ll also support the Business Development Director (that’s Raymond) with reviewing potential new games for our future line-up. This position puts you right in the middle of it all, which gives you a great impression of what production, development and publishing processes are within the games industry.

Some of the things you’ll be helping out with:

  • Test games
  • Help review potential new games
  • Help out the producers with tasks
  • Writing short assessments of in-development builds and milestones
  • Tracking and documenting bugs using our existing tools
  • Testing DLCs, patches and updates
  • Brainstorm about solutions to game design problems
  • Play a bunch of games

What we have to offer:

  • A very informative internship with a lot of daily variety (four to six months, 40 hours a week)
  • An international work environment
  • Good counseling and the amount of responsibility that suits you
  • An informal and relaxed atmosphere
  • Lots of freedom for your own initiatives and solutions
  • Free Steam games!
  • Your name will be in the credits of all the games you’ll work on
  • A compensation of €350,- a month

What we’re looking for:

  • You’re a MBO/HBO/WO (bachelor and up) student.
  • You play games. Indie, AAA, casual; the wider your field of interest, the better.
  • You know your way around Steam.
  • You’re interested in the industry behind the games: the people, the business and how games are made.
  • You work accurately, have an opinion and aren’t afraid to share it.
  • The direction of your education is Game Design/Development/Interaction Design/Media Studies or anything else relevant to this internship and company.
  • You are available five days a week (40 hours) during your internship (with the exception of a day here and there that you need to report back to school).
  • You live in the Randstad. We want our interns to be able to come to the office during the internship; we don’t offer a remote internship.

This internship is for a duration of five months and starts in September 2024. Interested? Send an email with your CV, cover letter and a link to your Steam Profile to Lea van Luit at

We’re looking forward to hearing from you!
